Lund University Internet Institute is from 2016 to 2017 collaborating with the city of Helsingborg in a project on digitized social services. The project includes Stefan Larsson, Associate Professor in technology and social change at LUii, and Lupita Svensson, PhD in social work and senior lecturer at the School of Social Work at Lund University.
The project is studying and making proposals on how social work can be developed by digital tools and processes. It is funded by the city of Helsingborg as well as VINNOVA, Sweden’s innovation agency (see here 1, and here 2).
An opinion piece has published in the Swedish national newspaper Dagens Nyheter on the Digitalisation of Social Work (18 July, 2016), a roundtable was held in December 2016 at Studio:Lab in Malmö, and a first report will be published in February 2017.
An expected outcome is that this research project will enable a further and more substantial development cooperation related to digitization, which hopefully will provide for better and more effective social services.
